Ramin Roohipour M.D.

Dr. Ramin Roohipour graduated from medical school in 1996 at Iran University of Medical Sciences & Health Services and after passing all qualification exams in the United States, embarked on a residency in surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at Harlem Hospital Center. Due to his great interest in gastrointestinal surgery, Dr. Roohipour spent a year as a research fellow on the Transplant Service at University of Miami, one year on the Colorectal Service at Cleveland Clinic in Florida and one year of research on the Colorectal Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Roophipour also completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Dr. Roohipour is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of several professional societies including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Medical Association (AMA). While Dr. Roohipour practices all aspects of general surgery, he focuses on laparoscopic bariatric surgery.
